For 20 years, UrbanTheater Company has amplified the voices of the Puerto Rican Diaspora and BIPOC communities from our home in Humboldt Park. This gala is more than a celebration, it’s an investment in the future. Proceeds fuel new works, youth programs, and our journey toward a permanent cultural home that keeps our stories thriving.

Mainstage Productions – Full plays archiving and centering Puerto Rican, Latiné, and BIPOC stories from Chicago.
R.A.W. (Real. Aggressive. Writing. Series) – National play development and readings for new BIPOC work.
La Tribu Apprenticeship Program – Mentorship and training pipeline for emerging BIPOC theater artists.
Community Partnerships & Resident Companies – Subsidized support for resident groups like La Vuelta and Tus Tías Productions.
Educational & Youth Engagement – School partnerships, workshops, and programs that connect theater to organizing and advocacy.
Neighborhood Economic Activation – Teatro Thursdays/Sundays and local business partnerships.
Capital & Cultural Hub Development – Establishing the new Performing Arts Center on Paseo Boricua as a permanent home.
